Dagenham Swimming Club's AGM will take place on Thursday 28th January at 7.30pm, in the meeting room at Dagenham Swimming Pool (first floor).

At the AGM next years committee will be elected. All club members are welcome to attend!

This Saturday (19th December) is the DSC Christmas Party. All welcome! The plan is as follows:

5-7pm - a children's entertainer, Father Christmas and Party Food. (Under 9's)
8-10pm - a christmas disco & party food.

FINA, the international governing body for swimming, has updated its regulations on swimwear for competitions and the new regulations will come into effect from January 1st 2010. Click here for more information.

Works are planned for the winter to replace the plant, boilers and pool dosing equipment, and they are also going to open up the changing rooms to a ‘changing village’. This will mean the wall beneath the gallery will go and this should also improve the air circulation. Needless to say there will be some disruption – we will keep you posted.

It is understood that plans will be on display in the sports centre.

DSC are pleased welcome coach Andre Baroni to the club, meaning we now boast 2 Level 3 coaches. Andre will be working with Dave and we wish him well in his new role.

DSC are delighted to announce that following our earlier success at the National Panel in May when we achieved Swim 21 accreditation in our Teaching and Masters Sections, we have now achieved SWIM21 status for our Skill Development. This means we now have accreditation at all levels in the club.

DSC are delighted to announce that we were successful at the last National Panel and have achieved Swim 21 accreditation. It also means that we have also achieved ‘ Clubmark’ status!

Swim 21 was first launched in February 2002 and is the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA)’s ‘Club Development’ model. It has developed since its inception, and it is a planning tool, based on the principles of Long Term Athlete Development, enabling clubs to help athletes, teachers, coaches and administrators to achieve their full potential. It focuses particularly on the needs of athletes - striving to provide them with the best possible support and environment.

Swim 21 Accreditation is a 'Quality mark' that nationally and regionally recognises clubs that are committed to providing safe, effective and quality services for the benefit of their members. To achieve the ‘Mark’, a club has to work steadily towards the attainment of a series of outcomes all of which are seen as essential if the right level of support is to be provided at each stage of an athlete's development. It ensures that we have procedures in place for all aspects of running the club, most of which can be found on this website.

Swim 21 Accreditation is available to ASA clubs of all aquatic disciplines that are positioned at one or more of the four levels of:

DSC has achieved accreditation in the Teaching category and is now working towards also getting accredited in the Skill Development area.

Barking and Dagenham are entering a swimming team and an Aquathlon team into this year's London Youth Games. Time-trials are taking place in May, so if you are interested in competing to be on the team please see the leaflets and application forms below.

DSC have heard that a re-union party is taking place on 21 March. The current committee of DSC would like to point out that this is not being organised by our club but totally independently by erstwhile members and we wish them a successful evening. We have a gala that night.

On the 6th April 2008 swimmers from Dagenham Swimming Club took part in a sponsored swim to raise money for the Mayor's Charity, The National Holiday for Sick and Disabled Children. The mayor himself paid a visit and all the swimmers had a great time. The mayor was so grateful for the considerable amount raised he came along to our presentation Evening later in the year to thank the swimmers personally.
