DSC are delighted to announce that we were successful at the last National Panel and have achieved Swim 21 accreditation. It also means that we have also achieved ‘ Clubmark’ status!

Swim 21 was first launched in February 2002 and is the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA)’s ‘Club Development’ model. It has developed since its inception, and it is a planning tool, based on the principles of Long Term Athlete Development, enabling clubs to help athletes, teachers, coaches and administrators to achieve their full potential. It focuses particularly on the needs of athletes - striving to provide them with the best possible support and environment.

Swim 21 Accreditation is a 'Quality mark' that nationally and regionally recognises clubs that are committed to providing safe, effective and quality services for the benefit of their members. To achieve the ‘Mark’, a club has to work steadily towards the attainment of a series of outcomes all of which are seen as essential if the right level of support is to be provided at each stage of an athlete's development. It ensures that we have procedures in place for all aspects of running the club, most of which can be found on this website.

Swim 21 Accreditation is available to ASA clubs of all aquatic disciplines that are positioned at one or more of the four levels of:

DSC has achieved accreditation in the Teaching category and is now working towards also getting accredited in the Skill Development area.
